As your ship sails ashore on new lands, the dream of ruling the most powerful empire in the world is reignited. You must now exploit the rich resources of these lands to strengthen your nation, by building new colonies and bringing prosperity to your empire. With plentiful wood, brick, wool, wheat and ore, there is nothing you cannot achieve. But as you set your first foot on the new lands, colors of foreign sails appear at the horizon. Make haste and make war, for now you must fight to be the greatest of all!
Today, we are excited to announce the first public release of Imperials, a strategy board game with rules that may seem familiar to many board game lovers. In Imperials, you must settle on new lands and gain prosperity by leveraging its resources. Imperials strikes a fine balance between strategy and luck, and promotes both cooperation and deceit! What makes Imperials different? #
So you want to settle on new lands! But there are other games that let you do this too. So what makes Imperials different? 🤔
- Imperials is free. We believe that Imperialism should not be restricted to the autocracy. Everyone can be an Imperial! ⚔️
- Imperials looks beautiful. With stunning artwork, we always try to make Imperials the eye candy that any Imperial would be worthy of. 🦋
- Wonders & Warriors. With dragons, warriors and wonders, you may choose to increase the depth and excitement of Imperials with a more complex gameplay. What’s more? It’s still completely free! 😄
- Play alone, or with old and new friends. Imperials can be played as a single player against artificial intelligence, or with other players online. Or you could make it an Imperial night with friends and family! 🎮
- Advanced mechanics. Imperials features optional advanced game mechanics that let you bring new twists and turns to your journey. We plan to add more of these in the future 💫
- Indulging Maps. And more to come. We even plan to let you make your own maps to play on in the future! 🗺️
- Rich and engaging gameplay. You have been warned. Imperials can be very addictive. Play at your own risk 😈
Wonders and Warriors #
As the wealth of the Imperials grows, the gold andthe jewels attract dragons from the mountains. You must now join hands with other Imperials to build armies and fight the dragon, or it will bring destruction and ruin upon all. At the same time, you must improve your colonies with scientific, mercantile and militaristic constructions. With patience and resources, you may also build wonders, such as the Lighthouse or the Arsenal, or great wonders such as the Great Library or the Great Citadel. Slaying dragons and building awe-inspiring wonders would be a critical aspect of being the most prosperous empire!

We started to build Imperials out of frustration with similar games. While one bug was that most of these were paid, we had a bigger issue - the need for more depthful mechanics.
